Freycinet Botrytis
Multi Vintage
Botrytis

GOLD MEDAL WINNER 2019 Tasmanian WINE SHOW

WINESTATE MAGAZINE 4.5 STARS OUT OF 5

The dessert section of one‘s dinner party is always something to look forward to, particularly

when it is accompanied by Freycinet MV Botrytis.

This gloriously sweet, decadent and luscious wine is impossible not to like!

It is a blend of 3 Vintages: 2016 (50%), 2017 (25%) and 2018 (25%) - hence the use of the letters MV

to denote Multi-Vintage. The blend came about after realising that the sum of the parts was greater

than the individual components on their own. So we very happily created the MV Botrytis.

Select parcels of Sauvignon Blanc were left on the vines for up to 8 weeks after all other grape

varieties had been harvested. This allowed the Botrytis mould to infect the berries and dehydrate

them, causing the sugars to double in concentration.

This is a notoriously difficult and costly wine to produce, due to the high level of sweetness.

However, the hardship and difficulties of producing the wine soon became a distant memory

when the final result proved to be so delicious! MV Botrytis is superb with all desserts. It makes a

wonderful partner to blue cheese and pate as well.

Once opened, the bottle can be kept refrigerated for several weeks without deterioration in quality.

The clever and unique label artwork, by renowned Tasmanian artist Tom Samek, appropriately depicts the wine style.
