Freycinet Vineyard
2024 Louis Pinot Noir
2024 Louis Pinot Noir
The Louis range of wines are crafted for everyday enjoyment or for short term cellaring. 100% Estate grown fruit from 27 year old vines is utilised with similar production techniques as for our flagship Freycinet Pinot Noir. To achieve a more fruit driven style for Louis Pinot Noir we mature it for 5 months in French oak barriques with 10% new oak.
The 2024 season on the east coast of Tasmania saw the return of warmer, drier conditions after three cooler, wetter, La Nina influenced seasons. Budburst was early as a result of a warm spring with low rainfall and settled flowering conditions provided a return to long-term average yields with perfect, well-formed bunches. All varieties ripened beautifully and up to three weeks earlier than normal. Fruit quality was exceptional with concentrated flavours and ripe, juicy acidity.
The 2024 season has produced a wine with superb concentration and succulent black cherry and b season reveals itself in this wine through its super concentration of vibrant black cherry and berry flavours, combining seamlessly with subtle truffle nuances, a plush texture and great length. It’s juicy flavours, supple mouthfeel and juicy finish give it immediate appeal, and make it ideal for enjoying whenever a delicious wine is called for!
