Spring rainfall reached only 70% of the norm, though slightly warmer conditions prevailed. The warmth carried into summer, supported by well-timed rain. By the harvest months of March and April, rainfall had dropped to 60% of\u003cbr\u003eaverage and the season turned noticeably drier. The consistently warm weather promoted even ripening, while excellent flowering earlier in the season led to higher-than-usual yields.
